Welcome to the 2017 Beach Season!
Winter's gone and the Summer Season is on its way! Welcome to all beach lovers and sun worshippers! Park your beach chair early and stay to watch the sun go down.
On May 20th at 9:00 am, we'll get re-acquainted with friends and families while pulling grass, raking winter debris and repairing fences. It's Beach Clean-Up time! Bring a rake, shovel, and gloves. There will be coffee, donuts, and drinks to keep you going.
Our beach manager, Dan Fox (look for the red "Beach Manager" shirt), returns to prep the beach, parking lot, and paths before opening day on June 10th. He'll be getting the raft ready to launch, and checking out the new safety equipment. Be sure to introduce yourselves and your family.
Sandy Niedojadlo, our premier Social Director, has some exciting news: Sandy, Tony, and family are moving south to a warmer winter climate; sad for us, but happy for the Niedojadlo's! Not to worry, Sandy has put together another season of fun activities. This does leave us with a position vacancy though as Sandy's last official duty ends after the cocktail party. :( If you're interested in the position you can send an email to president@pleasurebeachct.org.
Our Opening Season Cocktail Party will be held again this year at Langley’s Restaurant onJune 9th. Keep your eye on the website for the scheduled start time. This well-received festivity is held on the deck overlooking the 18th hole of the Great Neck Country Club. You will be treated to assorted hors d’oeuvres, 2 bar drinks, and unlimited soft drinks. This is an over 21, members-only event for $20/person.
Hot dogs on the beach, Rita’s Italian Ice, and some spontaneous happenings is what this summer is all about. Keep an eye on our website and check your emails for both scheduled and unscheduled events. Remember, we need volunteers to make these gleeful, 3-hour events happen. Let us know if you can coordinate or assist with one or two!

At Members' request, we’re returning to our good-ol’ potluck Beach Picnic with dogs, burgers, and buns provided, condiments on the side. Members and guests will bring a side dish or dessert to share (make enough for 20). This is a BYOB, BYOSoda event. Water provided by the Association. This event is scheduled for July 22 starting at 6:00p, with a rain date of July 29th. $5 tickets for everyone over 8-years-old. Pre-purchase your tickets with your assessment. It is crucial - really, really important - that we have a head count in advance. Guests are welcome with a ticket.
Stay tuned for announcements about the PBO in August, details will follow as the season gets underway. This is a fun event for golfers and duffers. All members and guests are welcome. Get your foursomes ready, or please come solo and we will pair you up!
The season will close with our Annual Lights Out Party when the "lights go out," the raft comes in, and the season ends. Currently scheduled for Saturday, September 2nd over Labor Day Weekend.
Mark your calendar for our Business Meeting on Saturday, July 7th, and our Annual Meeting on Saturday, August 19th. Meetings are held at the Goshen Firehouse and begin promptly at9:00 a.m. We encourage everyone’s attendance as the Association is directed by the members who come to the summer meetings.
As in the past, we will be replacing the old and updating the outdated with new equipment. Look for a bike rack, new swim buoys, fencing, signage and lifeguard equipment. We will also be adding a designated lane for paddle boards, as well as looking for security and porta-potty service upgrades.
We are pleased to announce that the Board has voted to maintain the current annual Assessment and associated fees without increase. The Board works hard to find a balance between the costs of maintaining up to date equipment, top personnel, security, and safety to ensure a great experience for you with your family and friends.
This year’s assessments, dues, and events are paid online at www.pleasurebeachct.org. Click on the button below, or visit the website to complete your Annual Assessment Form and fees. You can pick-up your badges on Beach Clean-up Day, May 20th and Opening Day, June 10th. Our new Financial Secretary, Donna Calabro, will be set up in the parking lot.

Enjoy the beach with respect for everyone’s pleasure, and be sure to bring all your belongings home with you. Please leave the beach better than you found it.
Wishing you all a wonderful beach season! How lucky are we?!
