Spring 2018
Hello Pleasure Beach Members!
We are excited about the 2018 beach season. Allow me to introduce the board:
Colin Gourlie - VP
Donna Calabro - Financial Secretary, Membership
Ed Luukko - Treasurer
Mimi Woods - Secretary
Heather Toyen - President
We are always looking for members to become involved and volunteers to help with the various events and chores that arise throughout the season. Please contact us if you are able to help: president@pleasurebeachct.org
We are pleased to announce that membership rates will not increase this year. We have several social events planned for the season and we look forward to seeing everyone throughout the summer.
Beach Clean up is May 19 @ 9:00am - bring rakes, gloves, garden tools. All are encouraged to attend and help out.
Badge pick-up will be May 26 & June 16 @ 10:00am - 12:00pm, on the beach.
The official first weekend of the 2018 season will be June 16 & 17. Prior to that, please use your 2017 badges if you have not secured your 2018 tags. As in the past, we will have security checking names and badges as you enter the beach parking lot. Security will have a membership list to verify beach goers.
The bylaw committee has been meeting and working on some updates that will be presented to the membership soon. We are looking into regrading the parking lot for the 2019 season (next summer). We will keep you updated on the information as we receive quotes and so forth.
One final piece of information: We will be increasing our security patrol this summer. Rather than having simply one guard at the parking lot, we will have additional coverage throughout the summer and increased security during holiday weekends.
A note from your Financial Secretary:
Happy Spring, neighbors!
A quick reminder to complete your assessments BEFORE opening day, June 16th. The 2018 badges (pink) will be required and our Beach Ambassadors (aka badge checkers) don’t want to have to turn you away. Also, take care to double check your assessment form before submitting. Please direct questions to president@pleasurebeachct.org. Thanks so much and see you on the beach! -Donna Calabro
A Note from the Social Director:
Welcome to a new year of fun, sun and of course, THE BEACH.
Having applied for the Beach Social Event Chairperson, I am very interested in finding out what members would like to see happen for social events. I am willing to listen to all recommendations and see what we can put together. We are still looking into a couple of “family” and “kid friendly” events. Feel free to email me with thoughts and suggestions: annead0504@yahoo.com Thanks, looking forward to a good Summer! -Anne Darling
2018 Events Calendar is available here: http://www.pleasurebeachct.org/events-calendar.html
Thank you and cheers to a fabulous summer!
