Spring 2019

Hello Pleasure Beach Members!

We are excited about the 2019 beach season.   Allow me to introduce some people:

Heather Toyen - President
Colin Gourlie - VP
Donna Calabro - Financial Secretary, Membership
Ed Luukko - Treasurer
Mimi Woods - Secretary
Bill Brett - Beach Manager
Anne Darling - Social Coordinator

We welcome Bill Brett as our new Beach Manager.  Bill is a long time PB member and avid beach goer.  Bill will be responsible for many aspects of keeping peace, order, and fun at PB.

We are always looking for members to become involved and volunteers to help with the various events and chores that arise throughout the season.  Please contact us if you are able to help.

We are pleased to announce that membership rates will not increase this year. We have several social events planned for the season and we look forward to seeing everyone throughout the summer.

Beach Clean up is June 15 @ 9:00am - bring rakes, gloves, garden tools.   All are encouraged to attend and help out.

Badge pick-up will be May 18 & June 15 @ 10:00am - 12:00pm, on the beach.

The official first weekend of the 2019 season will be June 22 & 23. Prior to that, please use your 2018 badges if you have not yet secured your 2019 tags.  As in the past, we will have security checking names and badges as you enter the beach parking lot.  Security will have a membership list to verify beach goers.

A note from your Financial Secretary:
Spring Greetings, neighbors! Regarding your 2019 membership, please complete your assessments (online please) BEFORE opening day, June 22nd. The 2019 badges (yellow) will be required from that day forward.  Also, please double check your assessment form before submitting to make sure all info is included. Please direct questions to our email.  Thanks much and see you on the beach!  -Donna Calabro

A note from your Social Coordinator:
Hello! Please see the calendar of events on our website. The beach picnic will be back to the traditional BBQ with potluck sides and dessert. I need volunteers to assist with cooking, set up, clean up, and so forth. There will be a kid-centered event and I am looking for some input from members with young children. We are trying something new this year - a Clambake. This event will NOT be covered by the association.  It will be paid for out of pocket.  If enough members are interested, we will have the event catered. Thanks!  -Anne Darling

Thank you and cheers to a fabulous summer!

Heather Toyen
President

Hello PB Members

Sadly, the 2018 beach season is coming to a close.   Please read the below info in preparation for the Labor Day weekend and final official beach weekend.

1.  Lights Out Party - Saturday, Sept 1 @ 6:30PM.  At the Firehouse.  Members only, 18+.  BYOB (water, soft drink, and other).  Reserve your spot above.

2.  At the Aug 18 meeting it was decided to hire a marina to remove, clean, and store the raft.  We will still need volunteers to help remove the lifeguard chairs and trash barrels on Monday Sept 3.  Please help us with clean up beginning at 4:30PM.   Chairs will be stored in the parking lot and trash barrels will be stored at the shed.

3.  We need volunteers to help remove the blue Access Mats from the walk ways.  If you are available to help with that, please respond to this email.

4.  As we know, some of the best beach days here at PB are in September.  Please be reminded - the general beach rules still apply.  Glass containers are not allowed, no dogs on the beach, swim safety is imperative, and carry out what you carry in.

5.  Final lifeguard  & beach ambassador coverage will be Labor Weekend.  Please help keep the beach safe and clean.

Thank you all for a wonderful season.  If you have suggestions, thoughts, ideas for the 2019 season, please let us know.

Sincerely the 2018 and 2019 Board:
Heather Toyen, President
Colin Gourlie, VP
Donna Calabro, Financial Secretary
Ed Luukko, Treasurer
Mimi Woods, Secretary
